The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) announced today that it will open the 12th edition of the Festival (running September 22 – October 2, 2016) with the European premiere of The Weinstein Company’s LION, directed by Garth Davis, on the evening of Thursday, September 22nd. The announcement was made today by ZFF Directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri.

The film stars Dev Patel (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE), Academy Award® nominee Rooney Mara (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) and Academy Award® winner Nicole Kidman (SECRET IN THEIR EYES).
